The Hydra Bay

A typical Whac-A-Mole machine consists of a large, waist-level cabinet with five holes in its top and a large, soft, black mallet. Each hole contains a single plastic mole and the machinery necessary to move it up and down. Once the game starts, the moles will begin to pop up from their holes at random. The object of the game is to force the individual moles back into their holes by hitting them directly on the head with the mallet, thereby adding to the player's score. The quicker this is done the higher the final score will be.

Actually the anti-piracy folks have whacked down a bunch of moles: Demonoid, TorrentSpy and BTJunkie among many others. Yet this is why I think the hydra metaphor is more apt. The heads they cut will just create the opportunity for more sites to replace them. Thankfully old faithful, TPB, has not and will not cave! Good work fellas!!!

The "Hydra Bay" is a reference to the fact that if someone were to cut off one of the Lernaean Hydra's head, two would grow in it's place. Like how if someone were to try to shut down the Pirate Bay, more would spring up overnight.
On a side note, the Lernaean Hydra was so poisonous that she killed men with her breath, and if anyone passed by when she was sleeping, he breathed her tracks and died in the greatest torment.

The hydra bay means, that if you try to take it down it just comes back stronger! Like the time it was raided it just came back to the cloud and it was stronger then before.

Long Live TPB! Almost IF NOT the only stand up group that has been here since the start with Napster, fighting and still fighting for everyones voice on the internet!

If you did not know. The internet was suposed to be used by the defence agencies and goverments around the world. It was never intended for the kind of freedom we enjoy today and take for granted.

They see that this so called "file sharing" is out of control when in reality i would almost go as far as saying that they are attacking our freedom of speech. They want to take back the control over the internet.

Can you take a step back and even begin to imagine how the internet would be like without TPB? ALL Bittorrent sites gone... nowhere to dl a song without paying for it first. Imagine all the forums with their special "Goverment moderators" where you cant even speak a negative word about your local politician or local super market at that matter. Just like it is in the US at this moment, Today!

dont think its possible.. but maybe.. just maybe.. with the help of TPB and their friends, Everybodys friends across the globe...

Cant we start a name/protest list thats open to the entire population of the world and you can only register your name/vote once...

There is something about the idea... IF 80% of the inhabitants of this planet that use internet would unite and speak as one... I hope i will live until then if it ever comes to pass. That day would be historic...

The Voice of The People has spoken.. what would all the companies and countries in the world do?

As i said, I dont even know if this is possible with todays technology.. But if there is something that TPB has shown us and the rest of the world its that if there is a will there is a way!

I just signed up to write this and being a lurker for years now I feel like I should say something. Thank you to all the people that make pirate bay happen. If it wasnt for the pirate bay my knowledge of computers would be very limited and I wouldn't be the student I am today. When I stop living from week to week I want to help the community that helped me.

The most centred & largest of the five is also the most wasteful mole popper and the main object in my opinion.. should be to strategically approach this very and sometimes useful versatile mole popper with the utmost sneakiest mental agilities possible, as it possesses a highly confusing mind-like sense of A.I. -Once this is achieved maintain constant motion by vigorously adding to your attempt at achieving that 'score'!
This benefit should not be taken for granted and it would be to the advantage of your score to periodically ignore that specific 'waist-level' centrepiece so as to maintain constant re-agitation of prolonged antiscorelimiting interaction with your "Whac-A-Mole" machine v1.0a/b

five holes" (this makes scoring almost impossible for most Whac-A-Mole gamers alike)..and it's entire purpose in its A.I. world would be to defeat your ability to 'zing-Up' the scoreboard. This process would become its primary objective for some time. Making it extremely difficult to get it so angulated and positioned again, in order to progress with the mallet whacking insertion attempts & practices. However, prolonged time intervals at attempts to let the "Whac-A-Mole" machine recover from such a tilt is NOT recommended. Constant approaches with exact and precise timing will be the best weapon of choice at achieving such returns... !!score yippycayeah score!! and DONT tilt!
