Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but if you haven't already I would urge you to read (and if you agree with its tenants) sign the Public Domain Manifesto - http://www.publicdomainmanifesto.org/

I would also urge the Party leadership to consider adding the PPofCanada name to the list of endorsing organizations, joining the Pirate Parties from Italy, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Belgium and Russia (along with many many other non-political and reputable organizations) in doing so.

Cheers, Scott Leslie

I'm going to have to read this a few more times since there is a lot to read but I did see a lot of points that directly matched the Pirate Party platform such as rights to release intellectual material by the author to the public domain. (music, published works, etc..)

I recommend others read the manifesto here http://www.publicdomainmanifesto.org/node/8

I feel I would likely second a motion to have Mikkel sign the manifesto in the Pirate Party of Canada's name like other Pirate Parties have.  Perhaps I'll table it myself.

I'll raise it at the Federal Council meeting tomorrow.
