I like the "Pirate Party"/"Parti Pirate" option that it was changed to.  My vote stays there.

I'm inclined to agree, but the perfectionist in me is a bit bothered by the fact that most other parties save for the NDP don't include “party” in their short name.

yeah that was my initial thought also but now I like the sound of Pirate Party or Parti Pirate better. It sounds more professional than simply Pirate.

I agree.  Just "Pirate" seems strange, better to go with the acronym if we were going to shorten the name.

The NDP's "short name" is "NDP-New Democratic Party", so I don't think we have to worry about it being too long. Wink

Our short name was originally PPCA, but we changed it some months ago.
